Professional studio teachers approved by the Academy will teach these lessons. It is very important
for students to have the advantage of high quality instruction, as solid foundations are essential.
Private instruction is available in the following disciplines.
Piano - Covering the areas of piano performance and music theory, the Classical Piano Course
emphasizes the development of the piano technique from Elementary to Advanced level. The
course also prepares students to sit examinations conducted by the various Music Examination
Boards.
Percussion - the percussion curriculum is broad and can be catered to the specific needs of the
student. The most recommended program involves total percussion training (Drum set and world
drumming, mallet percussion, concert percussion, and rudimental percussion) although student
may choose a focus instrument of their choice.
Flute - The objectives of the flute studio are to learn and appreciate flute repertoire from all
periods of music. The goal of every player is to master the techniques of flute playing including
tone production, dynamic control, correct fingerings and fingering patterns, articulation styles,
intonation tendencies, and corrective measures. Interpretation and expression is also a large focus
in order that students may recognize and demonstrate an understanding of interpretive
instructions found in music. They also need to recognize and demonstrate an understanding of
performance practice styles and conventions pertinent to the music they are playing.
Guitar - The Guitar Course has been progressively graded to make learning to play the guitar
easy, enjoyable and effective. Apart from acquiring guitar playing technique through the classical
repertoire, private lessons in guitar also cultivates note reading and ensemble playing skills.
Voice - In our Vocal studio, in addition to acoustic singing, you study using a microphone, and
amplification system, allowing you to fully control your voice. Our principle is to build the perfect
'instrument', ready to sing whatever, and whenever, you choose, the same as a well tuned grand
piano for a concert. You will probably understand, even if youÕre not a musician, that with musical
instruments, whether a piano, violin, or flute, you can use them to perform every kind of music. Our
students love this methodology, and it helps them choose the perfect road for their talents.
