“Drew Tucker is a wonderful educator and performer. Students from beginner to professional would do well to study with him and the other educators at his academy, and with faculty like University of Miami graduate, Matt Koger, you cannot go wrong.“

About Us

Six Reasons to choose The Tucker Academy for The Arts

  1. We are dedicated to providing our students with high standards in a warm and supportive learning environment.
  2. Small classes and individual attention.
  3. Our instructors realize everyone learns differently so the emphasis is on learning solid music fundamentals while simultaneously focusing on the music that keeps a student motivated and interested. This is achieved by directly incorporating the songs and styles they enjoy and relate to, with theory and technique.
  4. Outstanding professional faculty committed to finding the approach that works best for each individual.
  5. Students build a strong musical foundation through regular performances in a challenging program.
  6. The support of sponsors such as Yamaha Band and Orchestral, Vic Firth percussion accessories, and Steinway pianos.

Whether your child just wants to learn enough to have fun playing a few of their favorite songs, or they are an aspiring professional, our teachers will develop a music lesson plan especially tailored to fit your specific musical needs and interests. All of our teachers are working professionals with many years of performing, recording and teaching experience.

Recommended Program

Our program of Music Studies and Performance produces a very high level of informed performance, and prepares young artists for acceptance by the finest music colleges, where auditions are extraordinarily competitive from worldwide candidates. For those students who love music, but will not pursue it as a major, this training gives them the basis for a lifetime of pleasure as highly skilled amateur musicians, and the option to qualify as a music minor in a fine college. Faculty advises students and families about college and conservatory choices, teacher's, and auditions as a normal part of our ongoing mentoring process that includes letters of recommendation for graduates. These supplement studio teacher recommendations.

Placement

We believe that all students should have the chance to play music. As such there are no auditions for acceptance. However to make sure that every student has the best experience possible, children are evaluated and placed in classes appropriate for their age, ability, social readiness, and knowledge, by the Tucker Academy's faculty and consultants. New students have placement interviews with the one of our educators, child, and parent. Faculty, usually in the next level, places returning students. Children may be placed in levels other than those listed below, based on ability and preparedness.
